Bismillah بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
I am in love. I can’t believe how much Allah has blessed me with in my life. I love the fact that I’m healthy, breathing, alive, living, and thriving with so much vitality, aspirations, and ambitions every single day.
I am happy that every single person in my family is supportive, kind, loving, and ever ready to lend a helping hand. I love that my entire existence is centered around Allah, who is ever so loving and merciful to me no matter what I do every single day.
I am in awe at how Allah takes care of every single human being who has ever existed since the beginning of time.
The planets and galaxies circulate precisely in their own orbits every single day, beautifully, without ever colliding with one another. I am amazed that every single one of us has unique features that define us, instead of all of us looking the same like clones.
This year, I made a life-changing decision to return to work at Khadijah Learning Center, a private, all-girls school I truly adore. Words cannot express how much I cherish this school. It is truly one of a kind. The environment, the people, the love that you feel penetrating through the air—every single one of these girls is destined for greatness, insyaAllah.
A Unique Educational Environment
What I love most about Khadijah Learning Center is that it adopts a Montessori homeschool concept. This means it nurtures not only intellectual development but also daily life skills like cooking, sewing, gardening, and drama. This approach ensures that our girls are prepared for all aspects of life.
Evidence from Islamic Teachings
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasized hands-on learning. He said, “The best of you are those who learn and teach others” (Sunan al-Tirmidhi 2641). This reflects the importance of experiential learning, which combines both knowledge and practical application. ❤️
Moving Beyond the Traditional System
Let’s face it: most schools today are overly focused on cramming facts and “artificial knowledge” into children. This creates robotic learners who rarely understand how to apply this knowledge in real-life situations. Instead, why not engage children through activities that ignite their passions early in life?
For instance, at Khadijah Learning Center, January is Experiential Learning Month, a no-book month dedicated to hands-on activities like bouquet-making, treasure-hunting, and ice-cream making. These experiences are not just fun but also life-shaping, helping our girls discover their true passions.
A Quranic Perspective
Allah says in the Quran: “And say, ‘Do [as you will], for Allah will see your deeds…’” (Surah At-Tawbah: 105). This verse reminds us to take action and explore our potential, much like our girls do through these hands-on activities.

Striving for Academic Excellence, the Right Way
Don’t get me wrong—I strongly support academic achievements. As Muslims, we are encouraged to excel in sciences, history, language, and beyond. But if we solely focus on academics, we risk raising one-dimensional individuals.
The Balance of Knowledge and Character
True education should develop children holistically. It’s about raising sophisticated, well-rounded human beings with strong character, not just programming robots.
A Lesson from Khadijah (RA)
Khadijah bint Khuwaylid (RA), the first wife of Rasulullah (peace be upon him), is our role model. She balanced her entrepreneurial success with her duties as a loving wife and mother to six children. Imagine raising a generation of girls inspired by Khadijah’s multifaceted life.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) praised Khadijah (RA), saying: “She believed in me when no one else did; she accepted Islam when people rejected me; and she helped and comforted me when there was no one else to lend me a helping hand” (Musnad Ahmad).
Creating an Inspiring Environment for Our Girls
At Khadijah Learning Center, we strive to create an environment filled with love and dedication. We want our girls to grow into strong, confident individuals who can contribute to society, both spiritually and professionally.
Although my daughter Maryam is only two years old, I pray that she grows up in this nurturing environment, surrounded by passionate teachers who inspire her to become the best version of herself.
A Dua for Our Teachers
May Allah bless our dedicated teachers for their hard work. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: an ongoing charity, knowledge that is benefited from, or a righteous child who prays for him” (Sahih Muslim 1631). Teachers play a significant role in leaving a legacy of knowledge.

Returning to Khadijah Learning Center has been a reminder of how important it is to give our children an education that nurtures both their intellect and their character. By focusing on experiential learning and holistic development, we can raise a generation of Khadijahs—strong, balanced, and inspiring individuals who will leave their mark on the world, insyaAllah.
May Allah guide us in raising these young leaders and bless all our efforts in nurturing the next generation. Ameen.
Love & Salam,
Teacher Aimi
