Since Allah is our Creator, He fundamentally knows what is best for us in every situation, therefore even if some of the things He gave us may be the opposite of what we want, it is nonetheless what is best for us. 

Allah loves His creation with a love so profound that it encompasses every aspect of existence.

From the smallest ant crawling on the earth to the mightiest mountains towering in the sky, every creature is embraced by Allah’s love. It is a love that knows no bounds, transcending time, space, and circumstance.

1. You are patient when Allah gives you life challenges

Have you ever had a trainer or a coach? He/she pushes you to the limit just to see how further you can succeed to bring out the best in you. 

Sometimes we hate them because they’re hurting us. 

But that’s exactly what we need to succeed!

Success in Allah’s terms is how many challenges you can overcome in this dunya without falling into sin and going against Allah. 

All the Prophets of Allah are conflicted with so much pain and hardship because they’re the closest to Him.

It is a test to see who truly deserves Jannah in the hereafter.

So, if you are facing challenges in life – money problems, family problems, sickness, etc. – rest assured that it is because Allah loves you and He wants you to get closer to Him when you seek His help. 🙂

2. You accept it when Allah protects you from this world

“When Allah loves a slave, He prevents him from the world, just as one of you prevents his sick from water.” – [Tirmidhi]

When Allah loves you, He protects you by withholding something bad that can bring you further away from Allah. For example, wealth, fame, the opposite gender etc. 

You might feel like you are working so hard towards something but somehow it is always out of your reach.

Try to reflect and see if that thing is good for your deen and brings you closer to Allah. 

If it’s not, it may be a sign that Allah is trying to withhold it from you so that you can turn to Him instead.

As believers, we should take solace in the pleasure of Allah, understanding that His approval is the ultimate reward for our efforts.

3. You repent when Allah gives you chances to repent your sins in this dunya

“If Allah wills good for His slave, He hastens his punishment in this world, and if He wills bad for His slave, He withholds from him (the punishment for) his sin, until He requites him for it on the Day of Resurrection” – [Tirmidhi]

If you have to choose, would you rather be punished once in this dunya or for eternity in the akhirah? 

Yupp, definitely dunya right? 

Some Prophets who disobeyed Allah like Adam A.S. (who ate the forbidden fruit in Jannah) and Yoonus A.S (who gave up on his people) were given punishments in the dunya (Adam A.S – sent to earth, Yoonus A.S – swallowed into the belly of the whale).

Allah expiates their status when they repented their wrong-doing by enduring the punishment with patience.

So when Allah loves you, He punishes you in this world so that you can repent to Him now before you get eternal and unimaginable punishment in the hereafter. These are some of the signs of true love from Allah. 

In addition to this, as believers, we also understand the significance of the fear of Allah, it drives us towards obedience and piety.

We strive to avoid actions that displease Allah, knowing that His displeasure outweighs any temporary satisfaction derived when we commit sins on a daily basis.

Despite His boundless love, Allah does hate certain actions, known as bad deeds or evil deeds. These include acts of oppression, injustice, disobedience to His commands, bad characters and the arrogant boaster. 

As believers, we strive to avoid these actions, knowing that they lead to Allah’s displeasure and punishment.

4. You are grateful and Allah guarantees You will not be touched by hellfire

“By Allah, Allah will not throw the ones that He loves into Hellfire.” – Sahih Al-Jaami’

How would you feel if Allah guaranteed that you will never enter Jahannam (hellfire)? An immense relief right?

Alhamdulillah. We should always strive to be the beloved of Allah and be grateful to Him.

These people are special to Him. The people of dunya usually won’t recognize them. 

They may be the janitor in the masjid or the kind uncle who is always volunteering for good causes. Only Allah knows. 🙂

The love of Allah extends beyond this worldly life and into the Hereafter. On the Day of Resurrection, we will witness the fruits of our love and devotion.

It is a day when Allah’s mercy will shine upon those who lived their lives in accordance with His guidance, rewarding us with eternal bliss in paradise.

5. You become humble towards the believers and stern towards the kafir

“Allah will bring a people whom He will love and they will love Him; humble towards the believers, stern towards the disbelievers” – [Quran 5:54]

If you look at Prophet Muhammad SAW, no matter how gentle and kind his character is, he is always stern with the kafirs (those who go against Allah).

These kafirs faught against Islam to the point that they will not hesitate to kill the Prophet SAW.  

But in our modern world today, the kafirs’ strategy to destroy Islam is different. They don’t plan to kill us directly, that would be stupid.

They have more subtle plans to weaken the Muslims’ faith such as beautiful entertainments, social media that are designed to be addictive and haram ingredients in the food industry etc.

They are very subtle and smart today so we must seek Allah’s help in protecting our iman.

6. You strive to love Rasulullah SAW and Allah makes it easy for you to follow Prophet Muhammad SAW’s teachings

“If you (really) love Allah, then follow me (i.e. accept Islamic Monotheism, follow the Qur’aan and the Sunnah/prophetic teachings), Allah will love you and forgive you your sins.”  – [Quran 3:31]

Allah is telling us to follow Prophet Muhammad’s teachings. 

If you find it easy to follow the Sunnah and live your life as a devoted Muslim, it may be a sign that Allah loves you. 🙂

Our beloved Prophet SAW’s teachings are the best to live meaningfully with a strong purpose.

7.  You strive to perfect your obligatory/wajib ibadahs and Allah makes it easy for you to do them

“My servant does not draw near to Me with anything more beloved to Me than the religious duties I have obligated upon him.” – Sahih Bukhari

Allah is telling us the most beloved ibadah to Him are the ones He has made wajib or obligatory for us because He loves it so much!

He wants us to get closer to Him by doing these wajib ibadahs such as the 5 daily prayers (Salah) and fasting in Ramadhan.

Some of us try to do many Sunnah or nafil ibadah that are extras but forgot to take care of our obligatory ibadahs that Allah loves.

So, try to make the wajib ones perfect first before you go to the nafil.

Here are some suggestions:

• Practice praying the 5 daily Salah on time
• Learn and understand the meaning of the recitations in Salah

In the journey of life, the love of Allah serves as a guiding force, it leads us towards do more acts of ibadah and self-reflection. By cultivating a sincere and attentive heart, we nourish our love for Allah and strengthen our bond with Him. 

Through acts of worship, supplication, and remembrance, we draw closer to the source of all love and find solace in His embrace.

8.  You strive to do more acts of ibadahs and Allah makes it easy for you to do sunnah ibadahs that seem difficult for others

“My servant continues to draw near to me with nafil (supererogatory) deeds until I Love him.” – [Bukhari]

Allah continues to tell us, when you continue your nafil or sunnah ibadahs after the wajib ibadahs, Allah will love you.

Some people find it harder to do these nafil ibadahs, but if you find it easy, it may be a sign that Allah loves you. 

You feel drawn to your Creator therefore the obligatory ibadahs don’t seem enough since you miss Him so much.

May Allah continue to make these sunnah ibadahs easy for you. 🙂

Here are some of the Sunnah ibadahs you can start practicing if you haven’t already.

• Pray 2 rakaat before fajr
• Pray 2 rakaat salah dhuhaa anytime between 8am – 1pm (before Zuhr)

9. You love Allah therefore Allah controls your physical senses

“When I love him I am his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes and his foot with which he walks.” – [Bukhari]

When Allah controls all your senses, you are automatically protected by Him.

Everything you see, do or touch will be controlled by Allah in the sense that you naturally want to do only what Allah loves and you feel repulsive towards dirty things that Allah hates.

For example, when you hear: “Rasulullah SAW said…”, you feel drawn to it and you want to hear more.

When you hear loud music or people talking rubbish, you naturally go away and feel repulsive. 

That is a sign that Allah loves you. 🙂 Alhamdulillah

10. You miss Allah so Allah attaches your heart to His book

“This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah…” – [Al-Baqarah 2:2]

The Quran is the direct speech of Allah, therefore it the best guidance to help you live out your purpose in life. When you read and refer to it every day, it is as if Allah is talking to you every day.

This happens in a love relationship. When someone misses their partner, they always check their messages to see if their partner texted them yet. 

Even when there’s no notification of a new text they still check their phone.. just in case 😉

When Allah loves you, He wants to talk to you because He misses you. And when you miss Him too and talk to Him often, it shows how strong your connection with Allah is.

These are acts of ibada that the almighty Allah loves. Indeed Allah loves those whose hearts are attached to His book – The Quran.

When you have firm belief in Allah’s promises to take care of you both in dunya and akhirah, you are automatically saving yourself from the punishment of Allah on the day of judgment.

11. You love Allah so Allah asks all His creations to love you as well

“When Allah loves a slave, He calls out Jibril and says: ‘I love so-and-so; so love him’. Then Jibril loves him. After that he (Jibril) announces to the inhabitants of heavens that Allah loves so- and-so; so love him; and the inhabitants of the heavens (the angels) also love him and then make people on earth love him“. – [Bukhari & Muslim]

When Allah loves you, He will call out your name to Jibril and ask him to love you. When Jibril loves you, he asks everyone else to love you as well.

Masha Allah. This is my favorite hadith on this list. Imagine Allah telling all His creations to love you! 

When this happens, no matter how hard life seems, there will always be people and circumstances that are always ready to help you and ease your affairs insyaAllah.

The love of Allah is a divine gift bestowed upon His creation. It is a love that transcends human understanding, offering comfort, guidance, and eternal bliss.
